After hotel pick-up, we head through the valley of fjord Ólafsfjörður and into the highland with breathtaking natural sights, stopping by a sheep farm and a horse.
Sheep make up most of Iceland’s livestock. Sheep came with us to the country and have lived alongside us ever since. Sheep are kept indoors during the winter, but as spring arrives the sheep are let out with their newborn lambs.
Our Icelandic horse is very unique as it is the only horse breed in the world that can perform five gaits (ways of walking). It is small but very strong.
On our way back, we visit the Geothermal Water Source Station in Ólafsfjörður to have Icelandic „kleina” and brandy.
