After hotel pick-ups we head to the fishing village Siglufjörður to a small family owned Local Micro Craft Brewery, Segull 67. The brewhouse is an old fish factory that has been designed and adapted. The name “Segull” means magnet in Icelandic and is connecting to the magnet needle (magnetic north) in the compass. The magnetic needle always turns north no matter where you are. 67 has long been a lucky number in the family. The great grandfather drove his truck with the number F67 and the grandfather sailed the seas with the boat number SI67. After having an introduction to the brewery, we will walk through the factory, tasting several different beers and some
straight from the tanks.
Finishing our visit at the brewery, we head through tunnels through the mountains to another village, Ólafsfjörður. There our local cook at Kaffi Klara Restaurant, will shower us with different kinds of Icelandic Tapas dishes for us to taste, while giving us an introduction to the saga of the property as it is the old Post Office in town with a lot of history.
